President Lyndon B. Johnson was no stranger to racism in America being raised in the South and dealing with people of all backgrounds. President Lyndon B. Johnson once said, “If you can convince the lowest white man that he is better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you picking his pockets. Hell, give him someone to look down on and he’ll empty his pockets himself.”
This sums up the Trump presidency very well since Donald Trump rallied the alternative right, a group of racist, white nationalists to vote for him. He must have taken to heart what Lyndon B. Johnson said as president because it is very clear that the nation is divided at the moment.
